July Announcements

 The July communion offering will support the Micah Mission Center in Hopkinsville, KY.

205 families were served through the Food Bank program in June. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped in any way. If anyone would like to donate food or money to the Food Bank program, it would be much appreciated.

Start saving your loose change for the July Noisy Offering which will support the LAMA Backpack program. Change will be collected on July 9.  

June Announcements

June Sunday Funday

Our June Sunday Funday will be a service project! Children will meet at the church on June 25 at 1:00pm where they will make cards. We will leave the church at 1:30 to go on home visits! 

VBS Training Days

VBS Volunteers are invited to choose a date to attend a training session. Training will be offered on Tuesday, June 6th from 9:00-10:00am and on Thursday, June 8th from 9:00-10:00am. 

June Noisy Offering

Start saving your loose change for the June Noisy Offering which will support Kentucky Annual Conference Camps (Camp Loucon). Change will be collected on June 11.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • The May communion offering will support Native American Ministries. “Native American Ministries Sunday serves to remind United Methodists of the gifts and contributions made by Native Americans to our society.”
  • 212 families were served through the Food Bank program in April. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped in any way. If anyone would like to donate food or money to the Food Bank program, it would be much appreciated.
  • Start saving your loose change for the May Noisy Offering which will support Camp Crossway. Change will be collected on May 14. 
  • If you haven’t already…..please notify the church office if you have a child who is promoting from pre-k, kindergarten, 5th grade or 8th grade or graduating from high school or college/university.
  • The last day of school for the Todd County School System is May 22. 
  • For anyone attending a college, university, vocational or technical school for the 2023/2024 calendar year, you can apply for the Petrie Memorial Methodist Church Endowment Scholarship. Scholarships will be awarded to applicants who meet the requirements and submit a completed application prior to JUNE 1st. Please contact the church office for an application. Applications must be completed on an annual basis.
  • The United Methodist Men hosted a churchwide breakfast on April16.  $2,701.31 was collected for Camp Crossway. 

Vacation Bible School

VBS is scheduled for June 12 – 15 from 8:30 – 11:30am. Volunteers are needed to be crew leaders, help with preschool, and to help with decorating and music!

There is a VBS display in the Fellowship Hall with a list of supplies needed.  Pick a post-it note and bring that supply to the Children’s Office.

Church Conference April 23, 11:30am


Petrie Memorial will have a Church Conference on Sunday, April 23 at 11:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall for the purpose of voting on a motion to apply for membership in the Global Methodist Church. The Church Conference is open to everyone, but only professing members can vote.

Announcements for April

  • The April communion offering will support UMCOR. “UMCOR comes alongside those who suffer from natural or human-caused disasters – famine, hurricane, war, flood, fire or other events—to alleviate suffering and serve as a source of help and hope for the vulnerable.”
  • Start saving your loose change for the April Noisy Offering which will support Hearts and Hammers. Change will be collected on April 9. 
  • 223 families were served through the Food Bank program in March. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped in any way. If anyone would like to donate food or money to the Food Bank program, it would be much appreciated. Double-bagged plastic bags are always needed. 

Upcoming Fundraisers & Collections

  • The United Methodist Men will host a churchwide breakfast on April 16 with donations supporting Camp Crossway.
  • The United Women in Faith will sponsor a potato bar on April 30 (5th Sunday) following the combined worship service.  Donations will be sent to Missions.
  • The United Women in Faith are collecting shower items for the Micah Mission in Hopkinsville.  Donations (hand/body towels, wash cloths, soap, shampoo, toothbrushes and paste, deodorant, and disposable razors) may be brought to the Fellowship Hall and placed in the marked box by April 30.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

·         The March communion offering will support Todd County Central High School’s Project Graduation. This is an organized, adult-supervised, and alcohol-free event offered as part of a post-high school graduation party.  All support will be appreciated.

·           Start saving your loose change for the March Noisy Offering which will support the Food Bank program. Change will be collected on March 12. 

·           March is Petrie’s designated month to donate to the Interfaith Center.  Currently, they need a variety of canned foods (vegetables, spaghetti, and chili.) There is a box in the Fellowship Hall labeled “Interfaith Center” that you can drop your donations in, or you may take them directly to the Interfaith Center.

·           238 families were served through the Food Bank program in February. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped in any way. If anyone would like to donate food or money to the Food Bank program, it would be much appreciated. Double-bagged plastic bags are always needed. 

 The Methodist Mountain Mission truck will be here on March 14.  Please have all donations brought to the Mountain Mission Closet (next to the youth hall) by Monday, March 13. Hearts and Hammers Ministry

On this chilly January day, the volunteers with Petrie’s Hearts and Hammers ministry

completed a ramp in Elkton, KY.
