Food distribution will be on March 11 beginning at 12:00 p.m.

You can help by donating double bagged plastic bags, unloading the truck at 9:00 a.m., or by helping with the distribution.

March is Petrie’s designated month to donate to the Interfaith Center.  Currently, they need soups, canned vegetables, canned tuna, canned chicken, and macaroni. Any non-perishables are welcome!

There is a box in the Fellowship Hall labeled “Interfaith Center” that you can drop your donations in, or you may take them directly to the Interfaith Center.

The Methodist Mountain Mission truck will be here on March 18.  Please have all donations brought to the Mountain Mission Closet (next to the youth hall) by Monday, March 17. Join the Lay and Ministers Alliance of Todd County (LAMA) to honor the life and legacy of Dr.  Martin Luther King, Jr. on Sunday, January 19 beginning with a march from Elkton – Todd County Park to the Todd County Central High School auditorium for a program.   As a reminder, the schools will be closed on January 20 as well as the church offices. 

“New Bible Study:A Survey of Wisdom Literature” Beginning January 15 at 10:00 a.m., we launch a new bible study, “A Survey of Wisdom Literature.”  Wisdom Literature is the genre of Old Testament books that include Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and Song of Solomon.  We will spend extended time on Job and Psalms.  If you have made a New Year’s resolution to learn more about God’s Word, this is a great way to help keep it!

 Thank you to everyone who adopted Christmas angels from the Todd County School system. Petrie adopted 39 angels this year and donated over 50 blankets/throws to the blanket drive. What a blessing to the children in our county!  

 

• $755.00 was collected from the October Communion offering for Grace & Mercy.

• $700.00 was collected for The Sparrow Project during the October Noisy Offering.

• Faith Based Recovery meetings are now held in the front room of the Outreach Building on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays beginning at 7:00 p.m. Please let anyone who needs this information know.
•  The Methodist Mountain Mission truck will be at Petrie on Tuesday, November 19.  Please have all donations placed in the closet by Monday, November 18.  The Methodist Mountain Mission is currently in need of the following items:  

• $420.00 was collected from the August Communion offering for the Food Bank.

• $453.59 was collected for the LAMA Backpack Program during the August Noisy Offering.
• If anyone would like a paper copy of the approved July Church Council minutes and the financial report, please contact the church office.

• Faith Based Recovery meetings are now held in the front room of the Outreach Building each evening (except Tuesdays) beginning at 7:00 p.m. Please let anyone who needs this information know.

 Double bagged plastic bags are needed for the Food Bank ministry and can be dropped off at the church office. (On average, we need 2,200 plastic bags per month.)  

September is Petrie’s month to donate to the Interfaith Center.  They are currently requesting jelly and canned foods: soups, chili, and spaghetti and meatballs. You may drop donations off at Petrie or take directly to the Interfaith Center.

• 227 families were served through the Food Bank program in June. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped in any way. Double bagged plastic bags are needed and can be dropped off at the church office. 
• $285.00 was collected for the MidSouth Annual Conference Mission Offering from the June Communion offering.

• $520.00 was collected for Celebrate Recovery during the June Noisy Offering. 

• The communion offering for July will support the Todd County Backpack program which provides weekend meals to Todd County students.
• Start saving your loose change for the July 14 Noisy Offering which will support the VBS Clean Water Mission Project. 

• A 6-month financial statement for your YTD contributions will be mailed at the beginning of July. If anyone has questions, please contact the church office.
