Back to School Bash

The Back to School Bash, sponsored by the Laity and Ministers Alliance of Todd County, will be held July 21 in the Fellowship Hall of Petrie Memorial United Methodist Church.  There will be an ice cream social following the event.  Everyone is invited to attend.  The purpose of the event is to provide backpacks, pencils, notebooks, and other school supplies for children heading back to school who will not have enough supplies. If you would like to make a financial donation, please make your check payable to Petrie and write “backpack” on the memo line.

Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School will be June 17-20 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. This epic African adventure engages the whole herd.  At Roar, kids explore God’s goodness and celebrate a ferocious faith that powers them through this wild life.  Contact Vicki Ross for more information.  (270) 265-2298

FREE tutoring Program

Petrie memorial will begin a FREE after school tutoring program for Middle/High School students of Todd County.  This program will start Monday, September 10th each Monday and Wednesday.  The location will be the Petrie Memorial Youth building 203 E. Main Street.  This building is located right next to the POPs building.

Worship Service @ POPs

Spread the word! Worship Service starting August 19 at the POPs building.  This service will be very, very casual.  Lots of praise and worship music.  The service will begin at 5:00 p.m.  Come one, come all, just as you are!!!!

Restoring Hope Women’s Conference

Lisa Harper and Holly Christine Hayes will be speaking at the Ballard Convention Center in Madisonville, KY.  Music will be by Rising Life.  It is free August 2 & 3.  Doors open at 5:00 p.m.  Conference begins at 6:00 p.m.  Our District Superintendent has reviewed it and asked that it be shared by each church in the district.

Health Kits for UMCOR

The Annual Conference is putting together health kits for UMCOR.  The goal is 2,000 kits. The Pennyrile District is responsible for contributing bar soap (bath size, 3 oz and up, individually wrapped).  If you would like to help, please bring the soap to Petrie by Sunday, June 10 and place it in the box located outside the church office.
