The United Women in Faith “Countdown to Christmas” campaign for gift cards for the KY United Methodist Children’s Homes will end on December 8.  Please contact the church office for more information.

The United Women in Faith are collecting new underwear and socks for Eastern Kentucky flood victims until December 11.  Please bring your donations to the Fellowship Hall.

Start saving your loose change for the December Noisy Offering which will support Birthday for Jesus (a Gideon ministry). Change will be collected on December 11. 

269 families were served through the Food Bank program in November. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped in any way. If anyone would like to donate food or money to the Food Bank program, it would be much appreciated.**If you did not have an opportunity to complete a 2023 Stewardship Covenant, please contact the church office. It’s not too late to pledge or indicate where you would like to serve.**   (Many areas are still in need of volunteers.)

Team Kid

Team Kid is meeting weekly on Wednesday evenings averaging 22 children ages 3 – 5th grade. The children’s lessons have been about our Promised King.

Christmas Play/Nativity

Make sure to join us on December 11th at 2:00 p.m. in the sanctuary for our Nativity and “12 Symbols of Christmas” performance. Students from K – 6th grade have been working hard at practice each Sunday. 

Children’s Church

We will soon have our Children’s Church training for those who have signed up for January –June.  Please be on the lookout for an announcement.

Acolytes

Thank you to Mrs. Catherine Fox for training our acolytes. It is a joy to have these students participating in the service each week. 

Bell Choir

The Bell Choir will perform on December 11th during the 10:00 am service. 

Volunteers Needed

We currently need volunteers to drive the church bus on Wednesday nights OR volunteers willing to ride with the driver. We currently have two people who have volunteered to drive and two to ride.  We really need another volunteer to drive in case of an emergency.

·    There will be no PM@PM on November 23 due to Thanksgiving Break.

·    The November communion offering will support UM Student Day which provides scholarship funds for United Methodist college, university and graduate students.  

·    Start saving your loose change for the November Noisy Offering which will support The Interfaith Center. Change will be collected on November 13. 

·    228 families were served through the Food Bank program in October. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped in any way. 

·    Monetary donations are now being taken for the annual Sparrow Project Christmas gifts. The goal is $5,000, and the deadline to donate is November 1. 

·    The United Women in Faith are celebrating the 200th year of Petrie Memorial. For November, the UWF will be collecting 200 amens of celebration.  **If you did not have an opportunity to complete a 2023 Stewardship Covenant, please contact the church office. Stewardship Campaign

Now through September 25 will be Petrie’s Stewardship Campaign.  Please be in prayer for how you can serve in Petrie’s 2023 ministries.

Children’s Church

Children’s Church begins September 4 for K-3^rd grade for the second service only. 

Church Office Closed

The church office will be closed on Monday, September 5 in observance of Labor Day.

Petrie’s Radio Broadcast

Tune in to WEKT 1070 am on Mondays at 4:00 p.m. for a broadcast of Petrie’s Sunday service. 

Celebrate Recovery

Celebrate Recovery meets on Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. (in-person and on Facebook Live).  This is a Christ-centered recovery program for anyone struggling with hurts, habits, or hang-ups. Please contact Mike Kenner (270-604-0413) for more information.

TeamKid Kick-Off

TeamKId starts on September 7 at 5:00 p.m. There will be pizza, games, and bouncers.  All children from 5^th grade and below are welcome. 

Youth Volunteer Training Meeting

New Testament Course

A New Testament course taught by Pastor Willard is on Wednesday nights at POPs from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. from now through December 7 (taking off October 5 and November 23).

Children’s Bell Choir

During Children’s Church on September 11, there will be a meeting for those interested in being a part of the Children’s Bell Choir. Kindergarten – 5^th grade are welcome.

 Food Bank Ministry

The Food Bank ministry will be on Tuesday, September 13.  The truck will be unloaded at 9:00 a.m. at the Outreach Building, and the food will be distributed beginning at 1:00 p.m. 222 families were served in August.

United Women in Faith’s 200^th Celebration – September

The UWF will be collecting 200 Bible verses from the congregation in recognition of Petrie’s 200^th celebration. 

Interfaith Center

September is Petrie’s month to donate to the Interfaith Center.  They are currently in need of soups (no tomato soup), chili, and canned ravioli.  You may drop donations off at Petrie or take directly to the Interfaith Center.
