Commodities Food Program
In September of 2009, Reverend Steven Neal started the Commodities Ministry. This program is supplied by “Feeding America” and the USDA organizations.
Petrie Memorial UMC has been blessed with gifts and volunteer hours from Mt Gilead Baptist Church, Pleasant Hill UMC, Johnson Chapel, St Susan Catholic Church, Fairview UMC, and Tabernacle UMC.
The Commodities Food Program disturbs food to 150 families each month. To apply for this program, a proof of residence in Todd County must be presented.
The program’s founding members: Linda D. Groves, Marlene Herrell, John Leavell, and Nora Walker, serve along side volunteers each month. New volunteers are always welcome 10am the 2nd Tuesday of each month.
